Not to be rude but as I have DONE, Pokemon Red and Blue will connect on GBAs via the GBA universal link cable. That is what the cable was designed to do and unfortunately you cannot buy an official Nintendo one but you can buy a third party one and it works fine. Is it all Blck or is it Gray with one Purple End and a Purple Box in the Middle, or something else. The Black is the GBC Cable, it only works for GBC and GB Games. You can trade Pokemon from xd to Sapphire, ruby, emerald, leaf green, fire red, etc. but you need to do it with a gba, or sp. because the ds can not be connected with the link cable. But when we try to trade over pokemon (sapphire and ruby) it just says at the screen that says "please wait The GBA Link Cable is the same shape as the GB Link Cable, except it has a little plastic tab on one side, and the GBA link port has a little spot for that tab to fit into. (And of course older GB Link Cables don't have the tab, and older console Link ports don't have space for it).
